During this time of everything being empty and closed, the outdoors is a beautiful respite from indoor life. India Leslie is from Richmond, KY and currently a Studio Art major at Eastern Kentucky University. Leslie’s art mainly consists of stylized drawings and illustrations due to her love of cartoons, anime, and any other drawn moving media. This piece serves to highlight a simple peaceful scene of a walk in the park which can be difficult for some to do with the current pandemic. Hopefully the piece will bring childlike joy and a sense of comfort, as well as a hope that we will return to our normal lives soon. Happy Mother’s Day! Here’s to all those mothers who have worked hard and are striving every day for the success of their children, as well as themselves. This year, mother’s day is considerably different than those of the past. The places we would normally take our mothers to celebrate and appreciate them are closed. It is a difficult time for everyone, but it is especially difficult for those mothers who help us every single day by putting themselves at risk. Here is a special thanks to all those first responder moms and to every mother on this special day for being strong, wonderful individuals who often willingly put the needs of others before their own.
