Art has always been a passion for the Georgetown, KY native, Heather Vanderoef. Whether she was admiring the work of Jackson Pollock, or learning technique in her classes, Heather has found inspiration in the world around her. She has been painting since High School, but put her creative career on hold to pursue her higher education. Eight years after completing her Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology, Heather has begun painting again. A fan of both oils and acrylic paint, her pieces use a palette of vibrant colors. She is a fan of painting fictional characters, scenery, as well as abstract pieces.
What sets Heather apart from other artists is her innovative texturing technique. She works with small materials to add dimension and interest to her paintings. Sand is a favorite of hers. She adds intrigue to her compositions through this method.
Heather Vanderoef’s work can be found in her online shop, “Fostering Gratitude.” Established in 2014, this Etsy shop is where one can find all of Heather’s remarkable works.
