Lauren Rose Wilder is an artist and printmaker in Lexington, Kentucky. She received her MAT in Art Education from Eastern Kentucky University in 2010. She has been creating prints almost exclusively since she was introduced to the printmaking process in 2007. Her prints are mainly small highly detailed etchings and drypoints exploring the evocative nature of wild animals.
“As a printmaker I'm obsessed with incising the deepest, most perfect, delicately-scratchy line to define the fur and feathers of my animal subjects. I'm fascinated by animals: their anatomy, their evocative presence, their meaning in fairy tales and fables, as well as their formal elements of texture, pattern, and line weight. Thank you for taking the time to enjoy these prints and drop me a line if you have any questions about my work.” – Lauren
All sorts of random, lovely, gorgeous stuff and I guess I was so fascinated with the natural that I kind of wanted to repeat it, replicate or steal it.
I wanna be like you! Renee Miller is awesome.
Document the natural world.
I as someone as an overactive thinker love that, it’s really good for me. So printmaking kind of just become something I was all about.
