For the past 15 summers, I have had the opportunity to study in France, painting "en plein air" in the footsteps of my heros. I grew up in Cherokee Park in Louisville, Kentucky, trailing Beargrass Creek with my dog, my BB gun and my sketch book. I owe my basic skills and my desire to paint to my mentor, Miss Lucy Diecks, longtime instructor at Atherton and the Univerisity of Louisville.
Mary Seymour Neely is primarily an oil painter in Lexington, Kentucky. Her studio is located at the Artist’s Attic in Victorian Square.
I liked to draw and drew well
My approach is experimental
Paint less and less and photograph more and more
