For me, images are fundamental. Growing up in Kentucky I have seen many compelling images that I wish I had captured in photographs. About 7 years ago I decided to stop wishing. Since then it’s been a fantastic journey that has taken me through Kentucky and much of the rest of the Southeast. When I first started out I thought that photography was a solitary pursuit. I have since found the opposite to be true. You meet people when you take pictures. You meet people when you share pictures. The images still compel me, but it’s the human connection that resonates.
Images serve as triggers for memory
Photography is not the solitary pursuit like I had believed when I started
I'm the guy who photographs the door knob
I am interested in anything that tells a story of what was
I have been misunderstood in my intent several times but it turns out to be interesting in the end
