  1. Scholarship assistance is available for low income students.

    1. For high school and college students, this is indicated by the need for some form of financial aid (e.g., lunch program, tuition grant). Applicants may be asked to provide documentation and references to confirm their status as recipients of these programs.
    2. For adult students, this is defined as a gross income that is less than the poverty level as defined by the state of Kentucky for a one-person household ($20,800). Applicants may be asked to document this with Federal income tax forms.

  2. For high school students, application should start with a teacher recommendation.

  3. In addition to need, other factors will be considered, including the student’s motivation, interest and long-term goals associated with the workshop.

  4. Scholarship applicants may be asked to complete an interview or submit a portfolio of previous artwork.

  5. Decisions on scholarship awards will be made by the LAL alone.

  6. Scholarships will be awarded for one workshop or workshop series at a time.

All Lexington Art League programs are made possible through the generous support of LexArts. The annual Campaign for the Arts has raised millions of dollars in support of the visual, literary and performing arts in Lexington. Through the success of the Campaign, LexArts supports the Lexington Art League with an allocation of $52,500 for general operating support. We thank the many individuals whose passion for the arts compelled them to give generously of their time and money. Together we raised more than $1 million during the 2007 Campaign! Special thanks to the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government and the Kentucky Arts Council for their continued partnership in ensuring a flourishing future for the arts in Lexington and central Kentucky.
