Madhundreds
Artist Statement: From a young age, I always felt like I had to find a way to translate whatever I was feeling, but couldn’t explain. I had no choice. Comics and hip hop infiltrated my childhood before I can even remember noticing. It was hip hop culture that gave me a layout of what confidence and focused energy was supposed to feel like. It was comics and anime that gave me a template for what an imagination like my own could create. You cannot undo these things. I had to translate what Wu Tang and Toonami ignited in my mind. Since then, I’ve felt the need to translate the feelings my influences left me. It’s the love for these places within my mind and the cultures that I exist within that have given me the task to aim towards creating a vibe that will ignite a new fire in someone else.
