THE  2014  AFB  WOODLAND  ART  FAIR  JURORS

The 2014 AFB Woodland Art Fair will be juried by Sherry Masters and David Bartlett. They both bring interesting and unique backgrounds to the jury process. Please see more information on our Jurors below:

DaviD   Bartlett

Bartlett earned his B.A. in Philosophy from Carleton College in 1969, his Masters of Phillosophy in Philosophy from Yale in 1975, and his M.F.A. in Photography from the University of Michigan School of Art in 1980. From 1980 until 2012 Bartlett served as a Professor of Art at Morehead State University. Throughout the years Bartlett has obtained countless awards including more than fifty national exhibition awards, the Al Smith Fellowship Award in 2006 as well as in 1996. The Kentucky Arts Council Award in 2006, the Professional Development Grant from the Kentucky Arts Council in 2004, the Creative Productions Award from Morehead State University in 2002, and the Twenty Decades award in 1985.

Sherry  Masters

Originally from the Asheville, North Carolina area, Sherry Masters was employed by Grovewood Gallery from1992 until 2013. During her time at Grovewood, she transitioned from sales associate and assistant buyer to general manager and buyer. Before making the move to Grovewood, Sherry worked as a manger of Allanstand Craft shop for 4 years and for 2.5 years was also employed by professional quilter Georgia J. Bonesteel of Hendersonville, NC.

Sherry Masters has defiantly achieved a lot over the yeas to say the least. In 2013 Sherry began her own business entitled Art Connections. The goal of this new venture is to introduce participants to some of the regions new as well as seasoned artists through one or two day tours. Currently, she is co-chairperson of the annual American Craft Week, now in its 5th year. This event helps bring attention to the craft industry in the U.S. Some of her previous endeavors include serving on the Board of Directors for Mountain Made craft retail store for 7 years, which is a non profit organization dedicated to providing business training and loans to entrepreneurs, wanting to start or expand a small business.
Artists can apply for the AFB Woodland Art Fair 2014 from January 31, 2014 - March 31, 2014.
