Series of Expression
J Daniel Adkins
January 29 - March 12, 2021
Artist Statement:
My artistic style and subject matter are varied. I choose to do this on purpose. I do not want to be restricted into a specific style. I paint what I like. I find meaning and ideas in observation of life and nature. I generally have more ideas than I have time to paint them. I paint in series of related concepts. I usually do about 10-14 pieces of art that are related in some way. This allows me to create a full dimension of any concepts as I see them. I work in acrylic, oil, watercolor, pencil, and ink.
Artist Bio:
I have lived in Lexington for most of my life. I attended Lafayette High School and the University of Kentucky. Growing up in Lexington has allowed me to observe much progress and change in my city. I have worked in architectural design for many years. I have been painting most of my life but have had the opportunity to focus more on art in the last few years.
