If You Lie with Me
Reagan Profit

Artist Statement:  The nude body offers a place to explore the human experience in its most vulnerable form. My work uses the combination of realism and abstraction to explore a myriad of complex human emotions. The process my paintings take to find their final form is an integral part of the work. The figure repeatedly gets lost and then found again through layers of paint that either defines or distorts the image. Through moments of clarity combined with disruptions, the form starts to transform into something more indistinct. This relationship between the highly rendered and the implied intrigues me and is an ongoing area of exploration in my work.

About the Artist:  Reagan Profit is an artist based out of Georgetown, KY.  Profit has spent the past several years focusing on depicting the human form through oil paint and drawing materials such as charcoal and pastels. She graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art Studio in 2021 and has exhibited her work in various shows in Kentucky and the surrounding areas.
