In   Residence:  Lori   Larusso   and   melissa   vandenberg

june 4 - August 26, open studios each tuesday, 10a-4p

Deepening an ongoing commitment to being a hub for working artists, the Lexington Art League is excited to present IN RESIDENCE, a three month artist-in-residence program designed to give artists the space, time, and support to create a new body of work, all within the inspiring architecture of the Loudoun House.

LAL is pleased to debut the program by featuring Melissa Vandenberg and Lori Larusso, two nationally exhibiting artists currently living and working in Central Kentucky. Over the summer of 2014, Larusso, a painter, and Vandenberg, a fiber artist, transformed the first floor of the Loudoun House--typically used as exhibition space--into their own sprawling studio space.

The Loudoun House is open to the public during gallery hours (10a-4p) each Tuesday of the three-month residency, ending Aug. 26. Visitors are encouraged to meet the artists, observe their art-making process, and learn more about the new work being created.

Larusso and Vandenberg's residency will culminate in the public debut of new bodies of in a joint exhibition titled Victory Without Fanfare, opening Sept. 5 through Oct. 5.
