To celebrate, we're sharing a coloring page created by Erica Cook for all your decompression and boredom-filling needs. Lexington artist Erica Lynne Cook specializes in the art of hand lettering. In 2015, she launched her creative firm Concinnity by Erica. Erica primarily works with chalk, watercolor, markers, and design apps to create unique hand lettered signs and digital illustrations for special events. An avid reader and lover of the literary arts, one of Erica’s passions is designing book covers. When she isn’t creating, Erica works full time at the Carnegie Center and teaches hand lettering classes. Remember to get outside today and appreciate the art that's around us at all times! This week's coloring page features the local wildlife of Castlewood Park. Spring is here, and hardworking robins flit about the trees and the ground searching for worms for their sweet little ones. If you are interested, we would love to see your finished coloring pages! Once you post them to social media, either comment a link to the original post, or tag the Lexington Art League to have the chance of having them featured on our page. We look forward to seeing your creativity! Starting April 10th, every week there will be a new coloring page of the week posted to social media, and to the blog. This week’s page features a fictional cat who shall henceforth be called Pepper. Pepper is a sneaky fellow who wanders the streets of Lexington looking for handouts and doesn’t have any qualms about walking away with unattended food. Residents of Lexington beware this sneaky, lovable fur ball or next thing you know, it could be your doughnut between his teeth!
